A little history...
A well built saddle...
![]()
...is fundamental to anyone who rides a horse. To a ranch hand, it is crucial. Boots, hat and chaps all have a purpose, but they can be replaced; even savvy horses come and go. But a good fitting saddle is a prize, and a hero to the hardy men and women whose job description demands long hours riding.
Double C Saddlery....that specializes in the production of western style saddles. This division was established in 1993 and has been successful in the development and exportation of western saddles on an international scale. Currently saddles are being distributed in The United States, Europe and Australia.
Each saddle is made with first class vegetable leather from our own cattle on the Ranch. Due to the hot and dry climate in the region, the cattle are protected from harmful diseases and insects that can leave the hides damaged and scarred. For this very reason all hides used on the saddles come from our own cattle production to insure the finest quality hide for your saddle. All hides are treated and prepared for working in our onsite tannery. Once the hides have been prepared and dried they are then sent through the production area where they become saddles. Production is strictly controlled throughout all assembly stages, in order to assure top quality and outstanding performance.
Where the saddles come from...
The workshops of Double C Saddlery are located on the family Ranch called Estancia Remonia in South America. Remonia was established in 1969 in the heart of the Paraguayan Chaco, in a time when little interest was paid to this remote location, a few adventuresome individuals took it upon themselves to develop this drought ridden area.
Remonia lies approximately 380 miles from the Paraguayan capital of Asuncion and up until eight years ago was only accessible by dirt roads and trails. Now the Trans Chaco Highway connects the cities of Asuncion, Paraguay and Santa Cruz, Bolivia providing faster and safer travel.
In the beginning, the management team and workers lived in tents, devoting their lives to the breeding of bovine livestock, and later including equine breeds. Today living conditions have improved but the same dedication and determination is noticeable in the excellent breeding records of the ranch.

At the present time Remonia is breeding Brahman, Santa Gertrudis, Fleckvieh, Gelbvieh and Gelbray cattle. With these races Remonia is represented several times per year in the national fairs and exhibitions and also in neighboring countries, continuously winning recognition for best in breed. Remonia sells bulls and heifers of the previously mentioned breeds, and likewise semen of the purebred animals.
Remonia's Quarter Horses...
Remonia has approximately 125 American Quarter Horses at this time. Each breeding season brings the birth of 35 new foals. Currently the ranch is working with five stallions all from distinct backgrounds.
The most well known of all the stallions is Sir Poco Frosty whose bloodlines trace back to Poco Bueno, Doc's Prescription, and Doc Bar. Sir Poco Frosty holds the honor of winning Reining World Champion, Ausbad, Germany 1991.
